CanSat Competitie 2009 - 2010

CANSATThe cansatcompetition is organised by the Technical University of Delft and the dutch spacecompany ISIS - Innovative Solutions In Space BV. The University and ISIS give students a chance to participate in a challenging competition to let them create a CanSat; A small satellite in a sodacan.  The goal of the cansatcompetition is not only to learn the students a lot about spacetechnology, but also to gain the intrests for the students to choose a technical study. The CanSat's will be launched by amateur rockets created by DARE, (Delft Aerospace Rocket Engineering), to 1km. On this altitude the CanSat will be trown out of the rocket and fall down with a parachute.

After a small pilot in 2006-2007 with 6 teams, the cansatproject followd with 46 teams in 2007-2008 and 20 teams in 2008-2009. This year, there are 38 teams participating and a total of around 300-400 people involved.

The sponsors of the project are (as mentioned) DARE , the Netherlands Space Office (NSO) And the faculty's EWI and LR.
